The opening prayer at the November meeting ...
from "Daily Text 2004", Nov. 11, 2004

Jer.32:27
See, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is anything too hard for me?

Luke 1:35-37
The angel said to Mary, "And now your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son; and this is the sixth month for her who was said to be barren. For nothing will be impossible with God."

Prayer:
Oh Lord, I am grateful that the answer to your question is "NO!" Nothing is too hard for you, even to redeem a lost and rebellious sinner like me. Now that you have made me your own and have equipped me to be your servant, use me to bring glory to your name. Amen.

Planting is More Than a Garden                  home page

Plant an idea in the mind of someone; that it may grow into something rich and useful.

Plant a smile on an unfriendly person; that he/she may share it with someone else.

Plant a kind deed in someone; it may, some twenty people later, get back to you.

Plant a caring word with one who has recently lost a loved one; that they may better be able to face the future.

Plant a remembrance of days long ago with a young one who will never be able to experience the past you had.

Plant a visit with a shut-in; that they may do the same when they are able.

Plant a seedling of your choosing in your own soul; that you may reap the rewards in your own heart.  In each of these plantings, sometimes sunlight, rain and fertilizer are needed.  We may need to urge this seedling to grow -- especially the one within ourselves.
