IN VOLUNTEER
MANAGEMENT
The goal of this course is to provide people in the volunteer
management field with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively deal with
the changing face of volunteerism. Topics covered are: History and Future of
Volunteerism, Philosophy and Ethics of Volunteer Programming, The Basics of
Volunteer Programs, Management Skills, Leadership Theory and Skills, Conflict
Management, Risk Management, Marketing, How to Sustain a Volunteer Effort,
Training Skills, Facilitation Skills and Career Development Planning.
In this program participants will gain:
Increased
skills in volunteer management
Additional
skills in training, facilitation, conflict management, communication
leadership and supervision
Connections
to others doing similar work in different systems
Enhanced
understanding of the importance and potential for volunteerism in today’s
society
This program is for individuals who have been in the field for
a few months to five years and are currently working with volunteers in any
setting or functioning as community activists or leaders of lay people in
religious congregations.
