The Mission of the Saint Paul Area Council of Churches, a community of Christian congregations, is to build life-giving, just, and anti-racist community for all people in the East Metro Area of the Twin Cities. One of the programs of SPACC, Congregations in Community (CIC) is to equip congregations for community involvement. It is designed to facilitate the involvement of congregations with other congregations and community agencies to empower people to address poverty and racism. CIC is funded by The McKnight Foundation, to increase volunteerism in the community by congregations.

Metro Hope Ministries is a recovery resource for the community. We exist to bring people, in bondage to life-controlling habits, to Jesus Christ and to equip them to lead godly lives.  Residential programs include Healing House for women & children, and New Hope Center for men. We also offer an aftercare ministry called Onesimus' Brothers and help for the church community, under our Help+ for the Helpers ministry.  As a para-church ministry, we rely heavily on volunteers.  There are many ways for individuals or groups to serve in direct ministry with residents or indirect still making an impact.  Volunteer info found at Get Involved/Volunteer, at www.metrohope.org, or contact Mary Akehurst the Volunteer Coordinator at 612-721-9415 or email of:  volunteer@metrohope.org.
